My research focus during my visit was two-fold: • Identifying objectives of Numenta’s binary sparse coding algorithm, including an appropriate reconstruction error in the binary setting, and establishing a relation to entropy • Defining a formal framework for Numenta’s sequence memory from the perspective of the incremental parsing algorithm after Lempel and Ziv.
